VCSA 7 Notes are limited on 255 characters

I wandet to update some text in the notes filed of my VM. I cant write anything but i can delete.. and delete and after my 262 Chars, i can write a letter.

I updated on VCSA 7.0.1.00200 ( 1732751) from 7.0.1.00100 this week, but I do not know whether this already occurs in 7.0.1.

It is a bug or feature?

Viele Grüße / Best regards

Malte

I have a limit of 255 characters on my vCenter. I seem to recall that this is a known issue with the H5 client, let me do some digging.

Found it, it is a known issue with the HTML-5 client, unfortunately. It is being worked on, not sure when it will be solved.

Hi depping,

thank you 🙂 where did you find this issue?

I copy the chars in Notepadd++ and they Counted 262 but this was mit "CR NL" so i press one single char and thats a 256 chars.

Ok, my veeam post notes in the notes field, so if I see the right one, it still works.

But the bug is very bad for us, we write down information to the VMs etc. in this field

I found it in the VMware Bug Database... I will bring it up with the H5 team to see if we can raise the priority.
