VCSA 6.5 vSphere Web Client through firewall?

How do I access the vSphere Web Client in VCSA 6.5 through a firewall?

When I try to access https://wan-ip-of-vcenter/vsphere-client it redirects me to https://lan-ip-of-vcenter/vsphere-client.

Well, I had to introduce DNS to the vCenter VCSA 6.5 installation to  make it work. As stated during the VCSA 6.5 installation the DNS or IP is hardcoded into the SSL setup, and as such is used to communicate with vSphere Web Client.

What IP is set as management nic for vcenter?

I think it is the routing which needs to be in place if you are using NAT ?

Thanks,

MS

Hi msripada,

Yeah I am using NAT, but I have allowed all traffic to pass through. I can reach the VCSA 6.5 console just fine, just not the vSphere Web Client.

When I attempt to access the Web Client on the WAN IP it forwards me to this:

https://lan-ip-of-vcenter/websso/SAML2/SSOSSL?RelyingPartyEntityId=aHR0cHM6Ly83Ny42Ni4xMS4xNzkvdnNwa...

This is as far as I get on the WAN IP:

When I attempt to access vSphere Web Client (Flash) or the HTML5 solution then I get this:

I can add that numerous people have this issue but a solution was never found: Unable to change vCenter 6 web client (or SSO?)... |VMware Communities
