After upgrading ESXi 6 to build 5572656, VCSA (build 5318203) now shows that VMware Tools is running but out of date (this is occurring on multiple sites we manage). Trying to upgrade with the VMware Tools installer generates a VIX error code of 21009. Manually attempting to install VMware tools from shell indicates that Open VMware Tools is installed. So my question is, what is the officially supported (and approved by the VCSA support team) of upgrading VMware Tools in VCSA 6. I want to make sure I don't do something that will cause the next VCSA patch to puke on install.
