Upgrading vCenter Server to 5.5u2d (5.5.0 build-2183111)

Hi Guys, just wanted to double check somethings with you, I need to run the below to be in line with the latest security:

Upgrade to VMware vCenter Server 5.5u2d (5.5.0 build-2183111) or later, our current version is 5.5.0 build-1945274.

I have previously ran upgrades when moving the vCenter server,  but have not done an upgrade on the same server, is this just a case of downloading the latest version of the software and running in custom mode, upgrading each of the parts at vCenter, and making sure not to overwrite the database?

Thanks in advance

Yes, just make sure backup your database and/or snapshot your vCenter VM and go ahead with custom installation wizard.
