Upgrade scenario Hash/Broad/Sky and 6.0/6.5

Hi there,

first my environment:

vCenter 6.0 with 7 ESXi Hosts on 6.0

5 Hosts are Hashwell E5-2670v3

2 Hosts are Broadwell E5-2690v4

EVC Mode enabled on Haswell

Now I get 2 new Servers as Skylake.

Is the following Upgrade scenario possible or not?

1. Upgrade vCenter to 6.5

2. Install new Skylake Hosts with 6.5

3. Hot vMotion from Hashwell Hosts to Skylake Hosts. Is this possible with EVC?

4. Upgrade 6.0 Hosts to 6.5

May I have Hashwell, Broadwell and Skylake Server in the same vCenter Cluster?

Thanks for your feedback

regards

Skylake processors do support Haswell EVC mode. Therefore, your action plan should logically work Smiley Happy
