Unable to add Host to VCenter Server 6.5

My VCSA 6.5 is working well and I've added a number of hosts to it already

However, when I try to connect to 1 of my hosts (5.5 build 4722766), VCS takes a long time during "validating" and finally comes back with an error message :

"Cannot contact the specified host. Host may not be available ... etc

I AM able to connect to the host with a VSphere client and sort of manage it from there

I CAN connect to it with Putty and log in

I CAN connect to it with WinSCP and browse all the files

Can you attach vpxa.log from the host in question for review?

Are you attempting to add this host via FQDN or IP address?

Don't use IP address. Use FQDN instead. Always add hosts by FQDN.

Have you tried to reboot the host? Sometimes that does clear things up.

Have rebooted both Host (to be added) and VCSA

No change

Just wondering if there's a log I should be looking at on the VCSA side

Yes, pull vpxd.log after trying to add the host. Record the time and state that here so logs can be more easily identified around that time.

seems like build issue. I had this issue once when I had higher build version of esxi host than mine vcenter version. and once I upgraded vcenter to the higher version than my esxi host. I was able to add host successfully as I usually we do.

Please check that out and let me know if that resolve your issue.
