UPLOAD files to vcenter 6.5 very slow after a successful migration from vcenter 6.0. FIXED

Hi all,

After successfully migrating the Vcenter server appliance from 6.0 to 6.5 , I noticed that any type upload were extremely slow ( OVF déploiement, ESX ISO image to update manager), WINSCP , SCP, SFTP, etc)

By changing the network adapter of the newly vcenter 6.5 appliance from VMXNET3  to E1000 fixed the problem

To do that I use Vsphere Client 6.0 !

I hope, in futur version of vsphere, we still have that kind of tool in order to work on the Vcenter VM if needed !

FYI I am using HPE ESXI image

I can now start the migration of ESXI from 6.0 to 6.5

After, I presume I can put back the network adapter to VMXNET3  ?

I am having this same problem on both v6.5 and v6.7.  I can upload files with no problems on v6.0 but when I install 6.5 or 6.7 it is unusably slow.  Anyone have any suggestions on how to change the NIC driver on vsphere 6.5?  I'm not having much luck searching for how to do what is suggested above.

Thanks.

Just to follow up for anyone finding this in the future.  I was able to get this working by following the Option 2 in the KB below:

VMware Knowledge Base

The problem I had was with 6.5 and 6.7 on a Dell R720 with a Broadcom BCM5720 where I could not upload any files of any size to a datastore using either the Datastore Browser or SCP. Enabling tg3 instead of ntg3 drivers has fixed the problem.
