Snapshot after vMotion or Strage VMotion is available ?

When we execute vMotion etc , the snapshot also moves.

Is this snapshot valid at the migration destination ?

sorry for the simple question

Hi Hiki1

The snapshot should work fine after a vMotion and svMotion (as long as ESXi is above 5.0). There is a KB on the impact of snapshot and migrations.

Migrating virtual machines with snapshots (1035550) (vmware.com)

Thank you for the KB information.

In the description of vMotion in Impact of snapshots, I found that "the files comprising the virtual machine are not relocated."
Specifically, what kind of file is "the files comprising the virtual machine"?

There are a good few files that make up a VM. See this KB that lists each file and what they are used for.

Whenever you generate a snapshot of a VM, it will create many files like *.vmsn and delta disks (a parent-child relationship always exist between the main *.vmdk file and redo log or delta disk). Basically, you should know after a successful snapshot creation, they are part of the virtual machine's primary files and it will always need them to work, so after running any operation like vMotion doesn't separate them, because the VM needs them to work normally.
