Send in ESXI 6.7 USB Device

Good day.

I send in ESXI 6.7 USB Device. After disconnecting this device, I reboot the virtual machine, connect the same USB and the system does not find it. We need to forward again. How to configure so that the virtual machine remembers these devices?

Hi,

did You add USB Controller to VM virtual hardware and then Host USB Device, right?

Check if some event did occur preventing USB autoconnect feature from working.

Hi.

I need to forward ETOKEN, RUTOKEN to the virtual machine.

In the "Key" column entered the value: "usb.generic.allowCCID", and in the "Value" column: the value "TRUE" - pressed the "OK" button.

Added a user with limited rights, rebooted ESXI. This error has appeared.

Unfortunately, we hit an error that we weren't expecting.

The client may continue working, but at this point, we recommend refreshing your browser and submitting a bug report.

Press the Esc key to hide this dialog and continue without refreshing.

Let's start from the begining. This USB token is installed in a host or in an administrator's workstation?

From 6.5 there've been implemented some changes to USB drivers. Look at this article:

VMware Knowledge Base

One way or another to connect USB device You have to have appropriate USB controller added to VM.

VMware Knowledge Base

VMware is supporting limited list of USB devices, so unsupported devices will work but they need more treatment to work

USB is connected to the server where the ESXI 6.7 is installed. ESXI has 2 users, an administrator and a user with permissions to only one virtual machine.
