while accessing vcenter 5.1 or ESXi host via browser, ssl certificate always show error and an option to allow user to ignore this and continue. do let me know from where this will be resolved.
Hi Faamin,
This is a expected behavior, if you don't want that, then you will have to create your own CA signed certificate and add them to vCenter. And doing that could be little creepy!
Thanks,
Hello,
as commented before, you can use in your environment CA signed SSL certificates.
Best regards,
Pablo
what will be the risk if we left ssl expired or as it is. I have been told that we cannot move vm datastore until ssl verified, also Man in middle attack also be there
Hello,
using CA signed SSL certificates is a security best practice.
Best regards,
Pablo
understood, but for my knowledge do let me know whether we move datastore among vm if ssl expired
Leaving SSL expired can have security issues. But not sure about anything like cannot move the VM among the datastores.
Thanks,
AFAIK SSL expiration doesn't affect any vCenter features, that include VM operations and moving VM across data stores.
i dnt think so as i have seen error snap shots while migrating VM
Can you post the error / logs
apologies for later response, seen somewhere don't have right now the snap shot. thanks let me check myself
