SRM in Protection Group - Unable to select individual datastore groups

Hi,

I have problem when create a protection group, I can see only one datastore groups which contain all datastores inside. How can I select individual datastore groups by Cluster?

System Details:

vSphere Server     6.0 update 3

vCenter Server      6.0 update 3

SRM                      6.1

Storage:

IBM V7000 connects via IBM SVC with remote mirror datastores to another IBM SVC connects to IBM V7000 at DR site.

Check if the replicated volumes are part of a consistency group on SVC, if yes, this is the expected behavior. If you want create different protection groups you will need different consistency group for each protection group.

Hi,

I create 10 consistency groups in SVC, but vCenter SRM cannot see the datastores separate by consistency groups. It can see only one big groups. Please see the attach pictures.

Hi panink,

Were you able to get this fixed. I'm seeing the same issue.

We went from one large datastore cluster to 3 smaller clusters and 1 consistency group to 3.

Hi pavink,

You probably have this solved but this "issue" can also occur if you have VMs that cross multiple datastores. In this case SRM will group the datastores together as if they are in the same consistency group even though they aren't.

Be extra careful if using ISO's mounted from datastores as this add to the issue Smiley Happy

Kind regards.
