SQL 2008 R2 Express to SQL 2010 Standard upgrade

Hello

I have out grown SQL express edition and have purchased SQL 2012 Standard edition. Can someone offer some guidance on how I can upgrade my vCenter server from 2008 R2 Standard to 2012 Standard? I want to use the same server.

I have been advised that I have a compatible version of VMWare etc.

Many thanks

Refer the KB article: VMware KB: Migrating the vCenter Server database from SQL Express to full SQL Server

Thanks.  Do I uninstall the old version of SQL before installing the new version?

Stop the old DB service. Are you planning on using the same machine as VC for the new SQL installation?

Hello,

A couple of questions:

a) I have databases called RSA, VIM_UMDB & VIM_VCDB - do I need to move all of these?

b) What features should I install when installing SQL 2012?

Thanks
