I have 6 virtual machine that should be on host VmHost5 but only this 6 virtual machine should be on this host and if the VmHost5 goes down the Virtual machine should move to another host an always be on the same, host.

    • This 6 specified virtual machine should always be together and on VmHost5

You can create VM-VM affinity rules in the Cluster Settings dialog box to specify whether selected individual virtual machines should run on the same host or be kept on separate hosts.

  • This 6 specified virtual machine should always be together and on VmHost5
Create VM-VM affinty rules to keep them together and that they should run on VMHost5.

  • No other virtual machine can move to VmHost5
Create VM-Host affinity rule that other virtual machines never run on host VMHost 5 (Create VM group and Host group for that)

  • This specified virtual machines can move if the hosts goes down

Create VM group with the specified virtual machines and configure should, but are not required to run on those Hosts.

I recommended to use should run rules instead of must run rules.

A must run rule limits HA, DRS and the user in such a way that a virtual machine may not be powered on or moved to a ESXi host that does not belong to the associated DRS host group.
