Hello folks,
I have a vCenter 5.5 managing several vSphere 5.5 hosts.
During my vCenter 6.0 upgrade, I encountered a Syslog port conflict with another piece of software and vCenter upgrade hung.
I took care of the port conflict but it was too late for the upgrade, since restarted the vCenter 6 install but recognized as clean install instead of upgrade.
So I reverted the vCenter to a snapshot from two weeks ago to repeat the upgrade (lab test purposes here).
Now I've lost connectivity to my hosts, even after manual reboot and restart management services.
Wondering if anyone has comments before I try to reinstall vSphere on these hosts?
Thanks,
romatlo
Ok, sorry for the spam.
I noticing that I can disconnect them and reconnect them.
Looks like SSL cert or database maybe out of sync when doing this. Interesting how some are fine though.
I have several of them to do this on, around 32. I don't have a lot of time, so probably will not research any script possibilities.
I hope this was the only hiccup!
Thanks again for responding.
Do the hosts appear in vCenter as 'Disconnected'? Or do they not show up at all?
Please share the Error message while trying to reconnect the hosts back to VC.
Regards
Pankaj

I know you marked this as solved, but thought I would share a similar experience:
I installed vCenter using the simple installation method and utilized the SQL Express Database. I was experiencing similar issues and it was driving me crazy. It turns out I hit the SQL Express 10 Gig limit. I mounted my database with SQL Management Studio, and removed all of the Event Logs to reduce the size of the database. Once I was well under the 10 gig database limit, things operated as normal.
are u also reverting to the previous snapshot and host disconnected?
as a maintenance of the database , u shd purge the transaction logs regularly. just to run a script.
