Dear all
Hi
I have 2 HP dl30 G8 server that each of them has 2*300G 15k local disk + 1 960G SSD disk in my laboratory now want to know is that possible to run vsan with these resources in my lab ?
Hi baber,
Yes you can or rather should be able to. There is a 3-node minimum but you can run a 2-node vSAN with witness appliance. Doesnt give you a great tolerance to failure but would be okay for a lab.
Kind regards.
Hi ThompsG
thanks. would you say what is requirements for run vsan in production environment ?

Hi baber,
A minimum of 4 nodes I would say. This would allow for a FTT of 1 plus you could have a host in maintenance mode and still be assured of your availability.
The rest comes down to space and IO requirements, licensing considerations and the like
Kind regards.
