Resource requirement for run VSAN

Dear all

Hi

I have 2 HP dl30 G8 server that each of them has 2*300G 15k local disk + 1 960G SSD disk in my  laboratory now want to know is that possible to run vsan with these resources in my lab ?

Hi baber​,

Yes you can or rather should be able to. There is a 3-node minimum but you can run a 2-node vSAN with witness appliance. Doesnt give you a great tolerance to failure but would be okay for a lab.

Hi baber​,

A minimum of 4 nodes I would say. This would allow for a FTT of 1 plus you could have a host in maintenance mode and still be assured of your availability.

The rest comes down to space and IO requirements, licensing considerations and the like Smiley Happy
