Reset vCenter Network Configuration

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is a way to reset the vCenter network configuration without re-deploying the appliance? Recently I've been playing around in a lab with Distributed Switches and I managed to "lock" myself by renaming uplinks which vCenter is using (not sure why but it happens every time). Anyway, when this occurs I cannot get the web interface of the appliance to work again and restarting it takes a long time.

Thanks for any help.

Hi

Do you have any backup of your distributed switches?
If yes, you can restore it if you still have access to vSphere Web Client

VMware KB: Exporting/importing/restoring Distributed Switch configs using vSphere Web client

If not then one way is to restore the vSwitch network configuration as described in vSphere Documentation here: vSphere 5.5 Documentation Center - Restoring the Standard Switch

also documented in these KB articles:

VMware KB: The Management Network vSwitch is deleted on the ESXi host

VMware KB: Configuring vSwitch or vNetwork Distributed Switch from the command line in ESXi/ESX

Say I did have a backup, if I lose access to vCenter (so only have access to the console) how do I restore the configuration without re-deploying the vCenter server appliance?
