Existing environment :
Windows 2012 R2 vCenter 6.5 was Enable Enhanced vMotion Compatibility (EVC) .
Question :
I want to install Windows 2012 R2 to Windows 2016 , So vCenter will be installed into the same version.
Create new vCenter Cluster Enable EVC ,then existing ESXi host join to it . (ESXi Host and VMs always power on)
Under these conditions , EVC function Work ?
Not clear what you're asking, exactly. You're saying you have vCenter 6.5 currently installed on Windows 2012 R2, yes? And do you want to *upgrade* that version of Windows from 2012 R2 to 2016 with vCenter still running on it? Or do you want to install a new Windows 2016 server and put vCenter 6.5 back on it?
HI daphnissov
vCenter 6.5 currently installed on Windows 2012 R2, yes?
YES!
Or do you want to install a new Windows 2016 server and put vCenter 6.5 back on it?
YES!
Honestly, though, I'd really recommend you take this opportunity to stand up the vCSA rather than deploy vCenter on Windows which, if you didn't know, is an end-of-life platform and will not continue past the next release.
