Problem with installing VCSA 6: Failed to start script. Firstboot error

I have a problem with installing vcsa 6.

Installation failed to complete, error is something like Problem with download suport bundle.

Vcenter is created when it starts the error is: Failed to start script. Firstboot error.

Probably is some DNS problem but I am not sure.

I don't have DNS server, and during installation when configuring network, FQDN and other, I set vcsa as DNS server.

Does someone know what is the problem?

Thanks,

Ante

Yes. VCSA looks up for that DNS resolution and fails. It is a must to have a DNS server which can resolve this for you.

I'm not sure if you can point it to a server which has a host entry for this resolution. You can try doing that though.

Maybe I need to point to computer from where I statr installation, and before that add vcenter record to host file on that computer?

Yes that is exactly what i suggested. But it's a shot in the dark, it will be good if it works Smiley Happy

And technically it should work as it is contacting the DNS through the machine you are using to deploy it.

Pointing to computer with host entry for resolution didn't help.

I set IP address as FQDN and then it works.

I don't know why vmware make a such problem with DNS settings. The same thing is with VDP installation.

Thanks
