Problem in converting Live linux physical machine to VM

Hi Geeks,

Greetings,

Am facing some issues while taking a Hot clone of physical Linux machine to virtual machine using VMware Vcenter converter standalone.

Am able to take the remote session of the physical machine using Putty using the correct login credentials. but while am trying to take hot cloning its leads to fail.

I need your help to resolve these issue.

What linux flavor are you running ?. I would recommend to install converter software on the physical machine, and try to convert. The otherway around you are trying.

we are running ubuntu 16.04 version and we also trying to convert free BSD OS also.

can you guide me with any documents to resolve this issue?

I resolved the issue by enabling the root ssh login in my Linux machine. its working fine now.
