I am looking to grant permissions to a third party we currently have in working on their virtual machines within out environment, I wanted to if possible give them access to ONLY their machines.
Is there a way of doing this? They do have a third party AD account which they are using on our domain.
Sure,
permission can be set on a per VM level. So if you configured your AD as an identity source in the vCenter Server, you can just jump to the permissions tab ob the VM and assign a role to that AD user, or create your own role first with specific limited permissions.
A quick google search will flood you with documentations and youtube videos on how to do it
