Hi all!!
I was checking the CPU usage in MHz graph in vCenter and the Maximum Value seems different when I get a custom period of time.
If I get the graph for one day (firts pic) the maximum size if 5088, when I get the graph for one week this peak usage doesn't appear, is this normal?
Thanks all!!
Luis_Molina,
vCenter collects performance values from all hosts every 20 seconds. It doesn't store this granularity of data very long. Graphs for longer periods are merely averages as they contain less detailed information. That's why you get different numbers in your graphs.
Similarly, spikes that are less than 20 seconds will only show as a spike of the average of this period in vCenter. In order to see realtime cpu usage you can use esxtop.

I just see the retention policy in vcenter config.
