My Windows 8 P2V fails to start at all; without giving an error message. Immediately following the VMware "loading" screen in Workstation 12, the vm stops as if I had quickly powered it off before reaching the bios.
The virtual machine is on version "Workstation 10". However, I already tried converting it down to "Workstation 8" to no avail. My only guess as to why this is happening is due to the fact that the original physical machine had 24gb ram and I reduced the memory assigned to the virtual machine down to 4gb. But even that should give me an error message, right?
The processor of the host I'm running is either identical to or better than that of the original physical machine.
I am unfamiliar with the error lines in the VMware.log.There seem to be a lot of them, but I can't pinpoint which one(s) would result in the failure that I'm experiencing. Can somebody help me get this vm running?
