Not booting

I have unfortunately reset the one of my virtual machine,after restarting it showing blank screen.I'm sharing screen shot can i get any info regarding how to get back by into normal conditionubuntu.jpg

Hi,

It is a ubuntu issue, not vmware. But i will try to help you with that.

HI

im new to vm ware.

Im running three hosts with 20 vms configured,my trial license is going to expire in three days so without disturbing the existing  vms can i again re install the OS

Hi,

Yes you can reinstall the ubuntu server. This will have no impact with other VMs.

But if you want to reinstall your ESXi, you have 2 options :

1 - Migrate all VMs from your host on your 2 other hosts. And then perform a reinstall of your host.

2 - Shutdown your VMs (located on the host your want to reinstall). Then restart your ESXi on the CD, and then perform an install and select preserve the VMFS partition during the wizard installation process.
