Is it possible to install vcenter 6.5 and not have the update manager installed? If so is it possible to install the update manager?
Why is it missing, I ask because during an upgrade someone recently posted it was missing for them? Its included in the appliane, if your vcenter is still windows, then its still a separate install I believe. You can install it from the same cd you installed vcenter from, but I'd look to migrate to the appliance if your on windows, the windows version isn't going to be supported in future versions.
It is possible to not have update manager installed by default and install at a later stage if using vCenter Windows Version. VUM is embedded in VCSA and no supported way around it exist.
I have not idea why it is missing,I did not do the install but it does make sense that the windows install could be a separate install and it is there by default in the appliance. So I can just download the vum install and do it?
download the vcenter iso, it should be an alternative option for install.
So you ran run the .iso and only install the vum and nothing else to the present install no reinstall of the whole vcenter server?
Yes its a seperate app that connects to vcenter, during the install it installs a plugin for the webclient I believe. Read through this so you understand the process
So what is the best version to download for 5705665 of version 6.5.0 and where can I get it?
