Nic down

HP 650FLB with 6 nic. After a reboot one of the nics is listed as down. If we manually run “esxcli network nic down –n vmnic” and then “esxcli network nic up –n vmnic”, it goes up.

It stays like this until after a reboot, where it goes back down again.

Make sure you update the NIC to the latest HP firmware and update the elxnet driver.

You can check the current driver version with:

# esxcli software vib list | grep elxnet

2 recent elxnet drivers for your NIC and ESXi 6.x are available here:

elxnet-10.5.121.7-1OEM.600.0.0.2159203.x86_64
