New port group vs new distributed switch

Hi, When implementing VCenter Distributed networking on ESXi 5.5, what factors would influence whether I create a new port group in a distributed switch or create an all new distributed switch?

The main fact is of course - how many uplinks do you have on your ESXi hosts. If you can dedicate 2 uplinks (for PROD) to the new vDS (distributed switch) and you would like to isolate the network traffic then go for the new vDS. Also you can consider better performance due to dedicated uplinks. However you should consider more complexity to manage multiple vDS.
