Move VCenter Database

We have an old VCenter 6.0 that is connected to SQL Server 2008 R2.

We are trying to move the database to SQL 2019.

The VCenter service runs under a domain user account, and the VCenter ODBC points the SQL 2008 and uses Windows Auth, so the domain account used to run the service also has permissions in the database.

We are trying to do the same with the old VCenter, but point it to a new SQL 2019, and the ODBC we will change to point to the new server and use port 50733.

I can log in with the account that runs the service and it looks like the ODBC is successful.

However, a bunch of services don't work and I can't even RDP into the server.

Any quick ideas to try, or is VCenter 6.0 just not going to work on SQL 2019.

I general the steps should work but I do not see SQL 2019 supported for 6.0 .

6.0 is EOL and best options are to move to VCSA.
