Migration of SQL Server Enterprise to Standard Editon

Dear team

We have separate database VM for VMware infra , in that we have 3 database one is for VC , second database is  for Update Manager and this is for SSO I.e RSA. Installed database version is MSSQL 2012 Enterprise edition. Now company wants to migrate the same to MSSQL2012 Standard edition or MSSQL2014 standard edition.

Just want to confirm is it possible to migrate our current SQL2012 Ent Edition to 2012 standard or 2014 standard edition.

if standard version is compatible then how to migrate the same, need ur urgent assistance on the same

Migration of SQL 2012 Enterprise edition to Standard is not supported scenario. Even from SQL 2012 enterprise to SQL 2014 standard is not supported.

Please have look at below Microsoft link for more details on supported upgrade paths and its versions:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/ms143393.aspx

You can take the back up of SQL 2012 Enterprise data, uninstall SQL server and do fresh install of SQL 2012/2014 Standard edition and import the data, this is just workaround.
