Hello,
I'm hoping what I'm attempting to do has been done enough times that there is already a standardized process for it. I would like to take several existing clusters and move them from one vCenter to another one. They are using vDS, so I want to move the networking, folders, the hosts, everything, hopefully as seamlessly as possible.
I know there are scripts that do this, however I would much rather be as granular as possible, create everything in advance that I possible can prior to moving the actually vmhosts into the newly created clusters on the new vCenter.
Is there a dedicate process for doing this somewhere? I'm talking about a how-to guide rather than just a script. I would imagine I'm far from the first person to attempt this. I am expecting the trickiest parts are going to be the vDS switches and the permissions, so any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Duncan.
