Migrating VM datastore kills IP Pool

Has anybody experienced this? we have two VM's that are in an IP pool, meaning they both have 3 IP's like a round robin. Migrating a VM to it's local ESX datastore kills the IP pool connection. How is this possible when we never changed host or did anything with the connection? We are running 6.0 update 2

IP pool configured on data center level , how vM  IP configuration wiped after migration.

Yes, IP address pool on the Windows server itself. I would think no as well but we have had two instances where it did.
