Microsoft WSFC - I can't migrate storage

Hi everyone,

I'm writing you because with VCENTER 5.5 we implemented a WSFC service for our file server service. Our current configuration is:

  • My VMware infraestructure is the next below:
    • VCSA (7.0U2).
      • Host1 (6.5)
      • Host2 (6.5).
      • Shared Storage accesible via iSCSI (Network Speed:10GBe).
  • WSFC.
    • Two VMs with W2K19, vmware tools version:11265 and hw version 11.
    • Both machines have the Hard disk configuration below:

                  vmware_vm_disk_conf.png

  • I implemented this service with VCSA 5.5 and during the last years I was moving to versions 6.0 and 6.5. During this time I never modified VMs configuration, I only reinstalled the Microsonft Windows OS, reconfigured WSFC ,etc.
  • DataStores.
    • Hard disk3 is installed in a datastore with vmfs5.

Nowadays I'm trying to do a storage migration for both hard disks but when I try it, I always receive the message below:

vmware_storage_migration.png

I read that for versions 6.0 or earlier the SCSI controller must be: VMware Paravirtual. Like you can see that's not my case so the question is:

Do I have to re-build my WFSC from zero? I mean creating new VMs, etc. or maybe, is it possible to apply any other solution?

Thanks for your support

Ok, reading the kb below ( WSFC  ) I read the next below:

Following VMware vSphere features are NOT supported for WSFC:

  • Live Storage vMotion support

So I will try to try again once the two VMs will be stopped.

I will share the result with you.

Regards
