Hi ,
Is it possible to deploy SRM solution with an existing vCenter servers with linked mode running in vCenter 5.5 ?
Thanks in advance.
Definitely possible .
Dear Amila :
Yes we can use these vCenter in linked mode for deploying SRM.
How ever it is important for us to consider these senarios before deployment when using multiple vcenters in SRM deployment
1) Do these vcenters have same SSO
2) If they are using same SSO then this would work fine that is both vcenter servers have been authenticated and then they can be connected
3) How ever if they use different SSO , then create a new user for authenticating on both vcenters.
Dear CrashTheGooner,
In my scenario I already have two vCenter servers in linked mode for the two Production Sites. I need to setup SRM to the DR site from the two production site whether this is possible to deploy ?
If this one is possible please help me to provide any reference document that you have with you. Thanks !!!
Dear Amila
This is my understanding . Correct me if I am wrong
We have a DR site already configured, but it is managed by different vCenter?
And we have two production sites managed by two different vcenters in linked mode?
If this our scenario yes you can set up SRM for two production sites and replicate them to DR site .
However please check that all these vcenters and esxi must be of same version
You can deploy SRM on all your vcenter servers and then with a service account with account to authenticate all these vcenters for SRM to be connected , this is vcenter DEPENDANT appliance .
kindly update
All the best
Dear CrashTheGooner,
Currently we don't have a DR environment for the VMware environment planning to have a DR solution for this using the SRM. Only two production site with two vcenter servers in linked mode.
Definitely possible .
Thanks for the information !!!
