Ciao

Is it possible that the license in question is not assigned to any host/vcenter?

assign the license, and remove the potentially expired (or expiring) license.

The trial license I can’t remove and it won’t allow me to assign them

... it won’t allow me to assign them

Do you receive any warning/error messages while trying to assign a license?

Whats the expiry date of the cert?
Can you validate the Status of the certificate? Do you see as "Assigned"?
