Is vSphere API available in the VMware vSphere Essentials Kit?

Hi,

TL;DR: I would like to know if the vSphere API is available in the VMware vSphere Essentials Kit.

We have evaluated VMware vSphere to build a very small test & dev environment at work. Since vSphere worked well during our evaluation, we are going to purchase vSphere licenses.

We only need to operate a single ESXi host and we don't care much about our virtual machines because they are used for testing purposes only. Thus, we don't need features like vMotion.

However, we take snapshots and we depend on the vSphere API because we use pyVmomi to administer our virtual machines.

Given that we only run one ESXi host, need vCenter for the vSphere API but do not need features like vMotion, I think that the Essentials Kit would fit our needs. But I am not sure that it provides the vSphere API. Could someone confirm?

With best regards,
