Is there any impact if we reset VMware vSphere® Appliance Management root password ?

Hi all

I'm just wondering if there is any impact on the vCenter connectivity, ESXi's connectivity or even the running VMs if we reset the VMware vSphere®  Appliance Management root password ?

https://localhost:5480/#/login?locale=en

I can't remember at all the user or even the password , but I guess the user must be root ?

I found this article VMware Knowledge Base  showing how to reset the password , but we need to make sure that will not affect our servers.

Thank you

Best regards

There won't be an impact with resetting the Appliance's "root" password, except you do have any 3rd-party tools or scripts running which are using this account.

... and once you've reset the password, you may consider to login to the Appliance Management, and disable the account expiry for the root account (default expiry is 90 days).

No impact. The username is indeed root to log in.
