Yes you can use phys. Memory

Enable 25% of Memory as pMEM

esxcli system settings kernel set -s fakePmemPct -v 25

disable it

esxcli system settings kernel set -s fakePmemPct -v 0

Check the current settings

esxcli system settings kernel list -o fakePmemPct

ESXi reboot is needed to take changes effect.

1- Can i do that in production environment ?

2- Can i create a vm on this space ?

3- Will remove all of data on that datastore if reset esxi host ?

4- i think your method that mentioned is a simulation method such as when we need ssd disk in LAB use comand for simulate sas disk to ssd disk is that correct ?

1. No.

2. Yes... vPMemDisk

3. Yes

4. Yes... you emulate a VMware PMEM with phy. Memory because this is what you have ask for and thats why VMware introduced this way for testing

Otherwise you have to invest into a NV DIMM(Micron, HPE) or upcomming Intel Optane. It have nothing to do with a normal NVMe Device.

Hi
I run the 7.0 Update 3 and it did not work. Is there a way to add the Line via the Webgui?
Why is there nothing who allow me to make them permanent? I "just" need a Ramdisk to export Data to is who is as fast as possible. I have to write million of Files who are <100kb big in size each.
Thanks
