I've always found that VMware HA is sufficient protection for both Windows and Linux appliance editions of vCenter. I understand that 6.5 has the promise of an HA solution for the Linux appliance (hoorah!). However our new data center is coming online faster than 6.5 will be available and "burned in" if you will.
We have folks that are determined to make vCenter availability the best it can possibly be regardless of complexity. This includes clustering of vCenter and SQL VM's and load balancing the PSC's. To me this presents significant complexity to build and maintain all for a management application.
Anybody running this configuration and have configuration guides, war stories etc? What about using FT instead?
thanks for any feedback
