Inventory service installation failed

Hi all,

I made a new ESXI 5.1 server and I create a VM with windows 2012 for installing vCenter but i have some problems.

when I try to install Inventory Services I have message : "The Fully Qualified Domain Name cannot be resolved with nslookup..."

But when I execute NSlookup it works fine.:smileyconfused:

Any idea to resolve this?

Is Vcenter compatible with windows 2012?

Thanks by advance.

Verify that each domain controller has properly configured PTR records in DNS(forward and reverse lookup zones) and ensure that the contents of the PTR record are accurate. To check this from the Windows command line, you can run the nslookup command on both the name and IP:

For Name:

nslookup server.domain.com
Server: DNS Server
Address: Server IP address

Name: server.domain.com
Address: IP address

For IP address:

nslookup IP address
Server: DNS Server
Address: Server IP address

Name: server.domain.com
Address: IP address

You may also try to remove and rejoin the host to the domain to see if removes any connectivity/nslookup issues.

5.1 update 1 VC is supported on win 2012 and not the earlier versions.

Queries

1)Did you get this warning on SSO installation as well or is SSO a  remote server?

2) Is this on IPv4 or IPV6?
