How to save view of Custom Attributes & vSphere Tags ? ? ?

Hi all,

hopefully you can help me.

I have a question.

Every time when i configure my view on vSphere Client (NOT the WebClient!) it is loosing my view settings after closing and starting the Client again.

In other words:

My main view which i use every day is "VMs and Templates".  And it should look like this:

https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33949662/vSphere1.jpg.html

Everytime i close and reopen the vSpahere Client again it reset the view to default, and it looks like this:

https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33949668/vSphere2.jpg.html

How can i save my view?

Some more information:

I am using vCenter 6.0 Server with several ESXi 6.0 Hosts and SQL 2012 Database

I would be very grateful if you can help me 🙂

Thank you and best regards

I would recommend to start checking all the things from KB article Changes to columns displayed in the vSphere Client do not persist after restarting the client (10306...

Also Tags (web client) and custom atributes (vsphere client) are different things. So probably you need to move and use web client rather than c# client.

Hi,

thanks foryour answer.

I just tried it with the Web Client but the result in unfortunately the same.

It does not remember the “View Settings”.

I am working with vCenter v6.0, but KB1030614 is only about ESXi v4 and v5.

The registry values are always switching back to default when I change them.

Do you think that it can be changed in the Database?

Thanks in advance Smiley Happy

No, VC DB is not  related here

Have a look on this solution Re: vSphere Client - column choices not staying with vsphere client, as at it should be the same for 5.x and 6.x versions.

It also strange that Web client doesn't save layout as it must save them.

Try to check if customization is enabled Disable the Customizable User Interface Feature

And you tried to save changes Customize the User Interface by Using the Layout Settings Menu
