Hello everyone,
I have inherited a new vmware infrastructure at work. Our client has set up a vmware host with 2 guest servers. One is the DC and the other is a TS. I can login to the host using the vsphere client but from the data I am provided with has no info about the vcenter server. I really want to know what is the vcenter IP so I can login to the vCenter server and make some changes.
I can login to the host with no issues with the vsphere client but i want to know how do I find out what is the IP of the vcenter server?
Your help is appreciated.
Thank you.
If your Host is connected to a vCenter , when you connecting from the Client you can see a popup message with the vCenter IP address similar to the below message
If you have only a stand alone host. yes you can do the VM modifications from the vSphere Client after you login in to the Host.
If you have only one host with two VMs I won't believe that you will have vCenter, since your environment is too small.
Thank you Richard. So I want to change the NIC of one of the machines which is a DC, can I do that when I am logged into the host via the vSphere clients?

Please, when you say change the NIC you're talking about change the vNIC type (from E1000 to VMXNET3) or change the port group ? Anyway you can accomplish both procedures using the vSphere Client connecting directly to your vSphere ESXi host.
Thank you. I think I got my answer. So I have one last thing to ask you, is the how do I download a vSphere Data Recovery API?
