How to install Update Manager in vCenter Server Appliance?

Hello

I have fresh installed VCSA 6.5 u1. I want to configure Update Manager which is integrated with VCSA 6.5. During starting the service of VMware Update manager found the following

Error:

the "start service" operation failed for the entity with the following error message.

Error(com.vmware.vapi.std.errors.error)=>{

     messages =[],

     data = <null>

}

Please help.

Hi

Log in to vcsa by  ssh and first try to start vum:

service-control --start vmware-updatemgr

if fail, check log:

/var/log/vmware/vmware-updatemgr/vum-server/vmware-vum-server-log4cpp.log

I'm having this same issue after upgrading from 6.5 to 6.5 U1.

Has anyone have any input?? Not much out there for documentation. Strange since it worked before the update and it's integrated in the appliance so you wouldn't think anything would break.

This is also happening to me, any resolution? It failed because the VUM was not installed with the vCenter (https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2150982)
