How to deploy 2nd vCenter server within one domain

I am trying to deploy a second vCenter Server within one domain.

The problem I have now is when I was installing the SSO component, how should I choose for the SSO deployment mode?

1. vCenter SSO for your first vCenter Server   --->  definitely not this one, as this is my second vCenter server.

2. vCenter SSO for an additional vCenter Server in an existing site

3. vCenter SSO for an additional vCenter Server with a new site

thanks if anything.

Hi,

the second vCenter Server has nothing to do with the first one? It is completely new installation with new vCenter DB?

If so, you install it as the first vCenter Server.

What do you wan´t to archieve with this setup?

You don't need to install another SSO.  If the vCenter is in the same domain, just have the vCenters share the SSO.  Less overhead and administration.  Just install the inventory service and vcenter and point them to the already installed SSO.

You can go with the third option or you just install VC/IS and register to first SSO.

Yes, it's completely new with new vCenter DB.

I want to build two View environments, in case I can verify some issues in both environments.

I've tried that, take the third option. But I can figure out why there came this error message as the attached snapshot.SSO fail.png

I would suggest better go with New SSO configuration. because if let say your primary SSO installed Vcenter server down, you cannot authenticate the new center with domain users. So better install new SSO it wont consume lot of space and DB

Thats exaclty my thought.

To seperate those installations completley do a fresh installation. Specially when it is for testing, i would not use my production sso installation.
