How to check the latest patch ver. of a VM in vCenter?

I Have installed the VUM plugin and enabled it.

What do you mean by patch version of a VM? Patch version is applicable to the vCentre server or the ESXi hosts.

VUM plugin is usually work for patching the server (Host level), vmtool upgrade, hardware version upgrade (VM level).

For checking the latest patch you can check via inside of windows only.

Thanks for the clarification. But is there a way to install windows updates for a windows guest OS without booting into it?
