Hi friends,
I am new to VMware tech.I just installed vcenter for practicing.
before using vsphere client,I think we need to enable some settings in the config page through webpage.
Whats the link for that?
I already tried with https://<vcenter server name>:5480/
but its not working.
Note: While installing I had selected the port number 81 instead of 80.rest of the port numbers are default. Please help.
Vishnu,
Could you specify your vSphere version and you are using vCenter virtual Appliance or vCenter Server on a windows machine .?
If its windows version of vCenter please use type in the url in specified format "https://client-hostname:port/vsphere-client" and if its VCVA use "https://servername:5480/"
Hi frnd.
vcenter server 5.1,on windows machine.Server OS is server 2k8 64 bit.
client-hostname means vcenter server name(windows machine) right??
Use "https://client-hostname:port/vsphere-client".
But make sure you have registered your vCenter instance in web-client admin-app. IF not done refer the documentation here.

Hostname of the machine where you have installed vCenter Server.

Hi Georgey,
My vcenter server is not registered.Just installed that's it.
I tried https://127.0.0.1:9443/admin-app from vcenter server, but page is not opening.
You will also need to install the vsphere web client from the same iso that you used to install VC.. if that is done, you should be able to launch the web client by https://<ip_of_your_machine.>:9443
Since this is a 5.1 VC, you dont need to register the VC via the admin app.

Hi frnd ,
I am getting one error while configuring the webclient.
"Error 29102.Could not contact Lookup Service. Please check VM_ssoreg.log in system temporary folder for details.
"
Were you able to install VC successfully? Is your SSO installed on the same machine?
Can you check the status of the SSO service and do your get some xml info on trying to access the following url
https://<machine_name>:7444/lookupservice/sdk
