How to access externally connected USB storage from hosts putty session. Is it possible?

I have IBM flex x240 node and I have plugged an external usb storage to that flex, I want to access the connected usb through putty session of that host. Is that possible . That usb formatted with ext4 . can anyone guide me to do that ???
