Dear All,
We have configured the vcenter server linked mode with following configuration.
One External PSC i.e psc.test.com and Two Data Center i.e vc1.test.com and vc2.test.com. Now we want to remove the second vcenter vc2.test.com from the site due to non usability of the this vcenter.. Please help to remove this vcenter.
Hi,
Please refer to the following VMware KB article to decommission a vCenter server: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2106736
This document is confusing, as it is for Decommissioning the vCenter. What if we just want to get rid of linked mode, but still keep all the vCenters in tact?

This guides you through all the steps and lets you maintain your clusters
I found this same document and was going to attempt to follow it for this process. Thanks for the confirmation that this one should work. I was looking for a more official KB, but this seems very well documented, so it should be reliable.
The KB does cover everything but I agree it's rather confusing and you are expected to know which steps to follow and which to ignore.

William Lam has also done a similar article here - https://williamlam.com/2017/03/how-to-split-vcenter-servers-configured-in-an-enhanced-linked-mode-el...
Will is a vExpert as well as an employee so as close to an official step by step guide you can get. Best of luck, I've completed similar work like this, the guide given was more than enough to see me through.
