Hosts not loading in Web Client only.

A weird one this. We are not able to view Hosts or Clusters in the web client. Perfectly fine in the Windows client. We've increased Java memory for Web Services, Web Client Server and RAM for the vCenter Server VM itself, updated vCenter and our clients, rebooted numerous times and restarted Inventory Service.

We're on vCenter Server 5.5.0 2001466 and the Hosts are on 5.5.0 2143827.

If it was the CIM service I'd have thought that would effect the Windows client as well. Anybody have a similar experience?

Please login to the Web Client using the SSO Administrator account (administrator@vsphere.local) to find out whether this is a permission issue. To be able to access the objects in the Web Client you may need to add proper permissions to the vCenter Server object in the inventory.

Hi,

Log in to the vSphere Web Client  as a user with permissions on the vCenter Server system ( same user which you used to login in c# )

Verify that the vCenter Server system is registered with the same lookup service as the vSphere Web Client.

In the vsphere client ensure that the search option is working ( if its not working then you would need to check the Inventory service)

Repoint and register the components if needed.

Make sure that the vFlash is not enabled in the hosts. (VMware has a known issue )

Thanks

Thanks both.

Not sure anyone would have got this though. Another administrator had turned off a VM that had HP Insight running on it.

This VM had installed plugins in vCenter that weren't disabled before it was switched off and it was this causing the issue. Once the VM

was powered up it went away!

It's a case of remembering changes made, no matter how small.
