Hosts/VMs/Datastores/Networks views are empty

Hello,

into my vCenter, i've a problem. (v7.0.2 latest build - problem was also there before upgrade to the latest release)

When i select a cluster into the left menu, and then i select the Hosts/VMs/Datastores/Networks view, all is empty.

That's the same if i point to the vCenter directly. Each tab is empty.

If i check the browser console output at the moment where i change of tab, i'get a syntax error : unexpect identifier

Any idea ?

Thank you,

What account are you using? Also, you could see if there is something in the inventory by connecting to vCenter using powercli (Connect-VIServer) and then do Get-VMHost...

Hi Jburen,

thank you for your answer.

I'm connected with an administrator account.

Connecting the vSphere through Powercli return correctly the hosts, from a Get-VMHost

I'forgotten to say that, into the vCenter, i see also the hosts and VMs, they doesn't appear only into the view of the right menus.

Hello,

Problem is still present.

A restore of the vcenter backup has been done to a new instance of VCSA, but always the problem.

Hello,

my problem is solved with the help of the VMware support team.

I give you the solution :

I had some custom tags defined with some simple quote.

Example : "     Date d'arrêt          "

The simple quote breaks completely the user interface.

Br,

Glad to hear its fixed.

Comment on the side for all VMware products from bad experiences with customers. Always try to user plain US english while creating or naming components inside all VMware suite. Having specific caracters or even characters based on language of country using the solution can break everything or lead to random errors.

(happened to me tons of times with clients using Latin American keyboards xD )
