Host Profile Network Disconnect with Autodeploy

I am using Autodeploy to deploy hosts in the environment (5.5).  The server has a DHCP reservation and seems to pick that up without issue.  When it goes to apply the host profile, the host reboots and it comes back up disconnected with a 0.0.0.0 IP address.  The host profile applies no network settings so this shouldn't be an issue.  Anyone seen this before?

After the host profile is applied, do you see a task in the recent tasks bar that the host is rebooting or is it rebooting from a crash?  After it reboots does it receive an IP from DHCP and start the autodeploy process?

I would manually assign it an ip, reconnected it to vCenter and manually apply the host profile and see what happens.

I watched it all the way through this time....It goes through "Starting up Services ...Running DCUI stop" for a long time then it does crash.  This is before it adds itself to vCenter though so I do not see any message in vCenter.

Sounds like you have driver issue with your autodeploy image.  Have you checked all your hardware against the HCL to ensure you have the correct driver in your autodeploy image?

Thanks.  Do you know how I would determine what the issue is?  I am using the standard 5.5 offline bundle.

Use this article to help you determine if you have the correct drivers for the hardware you are using - VMware KB: Determining Network/Storage firmware and driver version in ESXi/ESX 4.x and ESXi 5.x , then go to VMware Compatibility Guide: System Search to find the correct driver.

Once you have the correct driver, then you can add is the the offline bundle you downloaded - vSphere Documentation Center
