Got an error at the pre-check stage while upgrading vCenter 5.5 to 6.5

hi everyone,

I tried to do a vcenter upgarde from 5.5 to 6.5. The SQL server is running on different machine. It is 2012 by the way. So at the pre-check after putting in the administrator credential, I got the following error:

Resolution: Please ensure extensions are compatible with the new vcenter server and re-gister extensions with the new vcenter server after upgrade.

Please refer to the vsphere documentation on extensions, and the upgrade and interoperability guides. Error: Unsuppported database driver: C\Windows\system32\sqlncli.dll . Resolution: verify you are using vcneter server wtih supported driver."

So I did little research and found out i may have to update the odbc driver to version 11. So I downloaded it, and reconfigure the ODBC connection to the vcenter server. However, it still showed up similar errror with the file name different which now say "sqlncli11.dll".

So may I ask what else I need to check into? By the way, the environment also has horizon view server running. .

Thank you
